On one hand\, Vertov intended for the film to serve Soviet ideology\, but on the other hand\, he humanized this ideology by focusing on the individual and human life. As a result\, Vertov found himself at odds with the Stalinist government\, which branded and banned his film. \nMusical version:New music for Zither orchestra by Michael Nyman (famous for his film scores for Peter Greenaway’s films). The minimal music of the renowned English composer Michael Nyman enhances the film while developing its own dynamic and emotional layer.
