Action:

The film is based on the legend surrounding the Prague Rabbi Judah Löw and tells the Jewish tale of the Golem:

In the 16th century, in the Prague ghetto, Rabbi Löw reads in the stars that disaster is looming for the Jewish community. He creates a powerful clay figure, the Golem, based on an ancient legend, and breathes life into it with magical powers. The Golem saves the emperor’s life, and the emperor revokes his decree to expel the Jews from the city. The Golem has essentially fulfilled its purpose, but when Löw’s assistant uses it to combat a rival, the Golem goes on a rampage, setting the city on fire. Outside the city walls, it eventually encounters a small girl…
