Brief Overview:
Professor Challenger is ridiculed for his claim that a “lost world” with prehistoric creatures exists on a remote plateau in South America. In response, he organizes an expedition, with his companions including reporter E. Malone, Challenger’s critic Professor Summerlee, Paula White (whose father went missing on the plateau), and Sir John Roxton, a hunter and explorer. After a strenuous journey, they reach the mountain, followed by a difficult climb. Once on the plateau, they see the dinosaurs, but a brontosaurus makes the return trip impossible. Soon, a carnivorous Allosaurus appears, but it is driven away. The focus then shifts to the search for Paula’s father, while studies of ancient life also take place. After the expedition discovers the remains of Paula’s lost father, a volcanic eruption shakes the prehistoric world…
