Plot:
“The General” is a 1926 action-comedy film directed by and starring Buster Keaton. Set during the American Civil War, the film is based on the historically documented Andrews Raid of April 12, 1862. The train engineer Johnnie Gray embarks on a solitary pursuit to rescue his stolen locomotive, General, from Northern spies. With perseverance, daring maneuvers, and ingenuity, he manages to reclaim both his machine and the affections of his beloved Annabelle Lee. The General is considered one of the most significant comedies in film history.
