Farmer’s son Tom meets a pretty young woman in the city who dreams of living in the countryside. Against the will of his extremely authoritarian father, Tom brings the young waitress home to the farm as his wife. However, due to his father’s treatment of the spirited woman as an intruder and the jealous desire of the farmhands, an increasingly unbearable atmosphere begins to develop. The catastrophe builds inexorably, reaching its climax on a dramatic stormy night…
